Email Verification Report

Run a verification to generate the report.

What To Do After Verification

Step-by-step playbook for marketers and technical teams.

Valid Emails (Safe to Send)

Mailbox exists, domain has MX records, SMTP confirmed delivery.

01
Add to active sending lists. These are confirmed deliverable.
02
Segment by domain type (business vs freemail) for campaign personalization.
03
Re-verify every 90 days. Mailboxes go stale as employees leave and domains expire.

Invalid Emails (Do Not Send)

Mailbox does not exist or domain has no mail server. Sending generates hard bounces.

01
Remove immediately. Hard bounces above 2% damage sender reputation.
02
Check for typos: gooogle.com, gmial.com, outlok.com are common.
03
Flag the lead source. Add real-time validation to forms producing bad data.

Catch-All Domains (Proceed With Caution)

Server accepts all addresses. Common with Gmail and M365. Cannot confirm individual mailbox.

01
Send but monitor bounce rates per campaign closely.
02
Suppress after 3 sends with zero engagement.
03
Limit catch-all to 20-30% of any cold outreach batch.

Risky Emails (Investigate)

Disposable domains, role-based accounts, or missing authentication.

01
Disposable emails (Mailinator, etc.) - remove. Never legitimate for ongoing comms.
02
Role-based (info@, sales@) - transactional only, not marketing campaigns.
03
Missing auth flags - deliverable but low priority.

Long-Term List Hygiene

Verification should be part of your ongoing email workflow.

01
Add real-time verification at point of capture (signup forms, lead gen).
02
Full list verification quarterly.
03
Monitor bounce rate, spam complaints, and sender score weekly.
04
Maintain suppression list. Never re-add a previously bounced address.

The Problem

Bad data is the #1 deliverability killer.

Bounces destroy sender reputation faster than anything else. A 2% bounce rate is enough to trigger throttling at major ESPs.

Hard Bounces

Sending to non-existent addresses tells ESPs you don't maintain your lists. Gmail and Microsoft start throttling after just a handful of bounces.

Disposable Emails

Temporary email services pollute your lists. These addresses die within hours — every message sent to them is a guaranteed bounce or dead endpoint.

Spam Traps

Recycled addresses and honeypots are land mines. Hitting even one can blacklist your entire sending IP overnight. They're invisible without verification.

Verification Engine

Seven layers of validation.

Not just syntax checking. Real DNS lookups, provider detection, and risk intelligence.

Syntax Validation

RFC 5322 compliant syntax checking. Catches typos, invalid characters, missing @ symbols, and malformed local parts before they cost you.

RFC 5322Typo DetectionFormat Check

DNS & MX Verification

Real-time DNS lookups confirm the domain exists and has valid mail exchange records. If there's no MX record, there's no inbox to deliver to.

Disposable Detection

Cross-references against 850+ known disposable email providers. Guerrillamail, Tempmail, Mailinator — they're all flagged before they waste your sends.

Provider Detection

Identifies whether the address is hosted by Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Yahoo, or other major providers — each with different acceptance rules.

ESP DetectionMX FingerprintBehavior Rules

Role Account Detection

Flags role-based addresses like info@, support@, admin@, and sales@. These typically have multiple recipients and higher complaint rates.

Risk Scoring

Composite risk score from 0-100 combining all validation layers. Green means safe. Yellow means risky. Red means don't send — simple as that.

FAQ

Common questions.

No. The free tier performs syntax checking, DNS lookups, and database matching — no emails are sent. The Pro tier performs deeper SMTP-level validation that connects to the mail server to verify the mailbox exists, but never actually delivers a message.
Syntax and DNS checks are essentially 100% accurate — the domain either has MX records or it doesn't. Mailbox-level verification is ~98% accurate. Some providers (like Microsoft) employ catch-all configurations that accept all addresses, making individual mailbox verification impossible.
Industry standard is under 2%. Google and Microsoft start throttling at 2-3%. Above 5% and you're looking at potential blacklisting. VerifyCORE's goal is to get your list's predicted bounce rate under 0.5% before you ever send.
At minimum, before every major campaign. Email addresses decay at roughly 22% per year — people change jobs, abandon accounts, and switch providers. Monthly verification for active sending lists is the gold standard. Before any send to addresses older than 90 days, verify.
Pro and Agency plans support CSV upload for bulk processing. Upload your list, and VerifyCORE will verify every address, flag problems, and export a clean list ready for your ESP. We support up to 500K addresses per upload on the Agency plan.
