Managed IT Services

An IT department on retainer.
Without the headcount or the ticket queue.

Built for 10-50 seat B2B businesses that need senior IT expertise without paying $150K for in-house or waiting 4 hours on an MSP ticket. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, security, endpoint management, compliance support, and the proactive work most MSPs charge for and don't actually do.

Diagnose.

Infrastructure audit. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace config review. Security policy assessment. Vulnerability scan. Documented findings with risk ratings.

Fix.

Remediation of audit findings, prioritized by risk and operational impact. Project-based or rolled into the retainer.

Monitor.

Ongoing endpoint monitoring, Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration, backup verification, patch management. Catch problems before they're crises.

The IT problems that actually cost money are the ones you don't see.

Headline-grabbing breaches make the news. The slow, silent infrastructure decay at most SMBs costs more, accumulates longer, and never makes a headline. Until it does.

Most MSPs measure success by ticket volume. We measure success by how few tickets you need to file. The work that prevents incidents is invisible, and it's the work most providers skip. — On What Managed IT Should Actually Mean
What we cover

The operational layer most IT vendors skip.

Help desk tickets are one part of managed IT. The harder part — the part that actually prevents incidents — is everything that happens between tickets.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace administration

License optimization, conditional access and security policies, identity and group management, mailbox and retention configuration. The work that quietly keeps your environment secure and compliant, whether you run Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or a mix of both.

Endpoint security & patch management

Centralized endpoint protection across all employee devices. Patch deployment for OS and application updates. Mobile device management. Removable media policies. The vulnerability gaps closed before they're exploited.

Backup & disaster recovery

Automated cloud and local backups with verified restore testing (the part most providers skip). Disaster recovery runbooks documented before you need them. Business continuity planning so a ransomware incident isn't an extinction event.

Security & compliance support

HIPAA preparation, SOC 2 readiness, basic ISO frameworks. Not full compliance certification (that requires a separate auditor). We get your environment ready so the audit goes smoothly when you bring one in.

Email security & deliverability overlap

Email security is where IT and deliverability meet. We harden your email platform against phishing and spoofing, configure SPF/DKIM/DMARC alongside your security posture, and integrate the email infrastructure work cleanly with your IT operations. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or whatever you run.

Vendor management & consolidation

You're paying 5 vendors for things 2 should handle. We audit your IT vendor sprawl, recommend consolidation paths, manage renewal cycles, and negotiate where it makes sense. Save 20-30% on annual IT spend without losing capability.

Representative Case

A 22-person B2B services firm was paying $4,400/month across four IT vendors. None of them knew the others existed.

An MSP handled tickets at $200/seat. A separate vendor managed M365 licenses ($1,800/mo). A "cybersecurity consultant" billed $800/mo for a monthly vulnerability scan nobody read. A backup service ran $400/mo on auto-renewal that nobody had verified actually worked. Total: $7,400/month in IT spend with no coordinated strategy.

The audit surfaced what each vendor was actually doing (and not doing): the MSP responded to tickets but performed no proactive M365 work, the license vendor was billing for 8 unused seats, the security consultant was running a free Microsoft tool and forwarding the output unread, the backup service hadn't done a restore test in 14 months. The backups didn't work. Nobody had tested them.

Consolidation: kept the MSP for ticket response (their actual strength), absorbed M365 admin and security under managed retainer, replaced the backup vendor with a properly configured solution including monthly verified restore tests. New monthly spend: $4,500. Same capabilities, better execution, working backups.

Outcome: $2,900/month savings ($34,800/year). Working backup verified within first 30 days. M365 license count cleaned up. Security posture improved measurably. One coordinated IT strategy instead of four uncoordinated ones.

How engagement works

Three steps. No 6-month sales cycle.

IT vendor selection at most firms takes 3-6 months of meetings, RFPs, and pilot programs. Ours doesn't. You're either a fit for managed IT or you're not, and we tell you that in 15 minutes.

1
Same day

Consultation

15 minutes on Zoom. We map your current IT setup, identify the biggest gap (no DR plan? expired licenses? security policies from 2019?), and decide if managed IT makes sense for your stage. If you're better served by a traditional MSP, we'll say so.

2
$1,200 fixed

IT & security audit

5-7 business days. Full infrastructure review: Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace configuration, security policies, endpoint posture, backup verification, vendor inventory. Written report with prioritized findings ordered by risk. Yours regardless of next steps.

FAQ

Common questions about managed IT.

Standard managed IT retainers cover business hours (8am-6pm ET, Monday-Friday). Automated monitoring runs 24/7 — critical alerts trigger escalation outside business hours through our on-call protocol. True 24/7 human response with sub-hour SLAs is available at the Enterprise tier with custom pricing. We're upfront about this because overclaiming 24/7 coverage is one of the most common ways managed IT relationships fail.
Traditional MSPs are optimized for ticket volume. We're optimized for ticket prevention. The $200/seat model assumes a certain ticket rate per user per month — when ticket volume is low, you're overpaying. When it's high, the MSP is overloaded. Our retainer model decouples cost from ticket count: the more we prevent, the better the relationship works for both sides. For 10-25 seat operations, the math usually favors us. For 50+ seats with high ticket volume, a traditional MSP may be more cost-effective.
Yes, when it makes sense. We're not going to fire your MSP just to bill you more. Many of our clients keep their existing MSP for ticket response and bring us in for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration, security, and proactive work the MSP doesn't do. The line: we'll work with vendors who do their job. We won't work alongside vendors actively damaging your infrastructure.
The audit is a snapshot — point-in-time review of your current state with a written remediation plan. You execute it yourself, hire us to execute it, or shelve it. The retainer is ongoing operations — we own the IT layer continuously, monitor, maintain, and respond. Most clients start with an audit, decide whether the retainer makes sense after reading the findings, and onboard or self-implement from there.
We do compliance preparation, not compliance certification. Certification requires an independent third-party auditor. What we do is get your environment ready: policy documentation, access controls, monitoring, evidence collection, gap remediation. When you bring in an auditor, the actual audit takes less time and costs less because the prep work is done. We've prepped clients for HIPAA, SOC 2 Type I and Type II, and basic ISO 27001 readiness.
We don't sell, deploy, or replace hardware directly. For hardware issues, we coordinate with your hardware vendor (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple) or local depot if you have one. The Enterprise tier includes after-hours escalation for hardware emergencies. For Lite and SMB tiers, hardware emergencies outside business hours fall back to your hardware vendor's support contract.
Yes, and increasingly we're brought in specifically for this. Cyber insurance underwriting has gotten significantly stricter — MFA enforcement, EDR deployment, documented backup recovery, security awareness training, incident response plans. We map your environment against your carrier's requirements and close the gaps. Saves money on premiums and prevents policy denial when you actually need to file a claim.
Month-to-month service agreement. 30-day cancellation notice. No annual contracts. No multi-year escalators. The IT services industry has a long history of locking customers into 3-year contracts with auto-renewal clauses. We don't do that. Retention is earned by results, not enforced by paperwork.
